The LOP measures 13 inches from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate. Many have damaged small portions of the surface wood. The wood shows several scrapes, scratches and compression marks. The rear of the handguard shows a repaired crack. The top and bottom of the grip show filled & repaired cracks. The buttplate and stock hardware show scratches and surface erosion. Stock Configuration & Condition: The laminate stock has a pistol grip, scallop for the bolt handle, nose cap with bayonet lug, hole for the missing cleaning rod, barrel band with sling bar, through bolt, slingwell, sling pass through, domed washer, and a metal buttplate. The rear sight is a “V” notched blade attached to a sliding escalator assembly marked from “1-20”. Sights / Optics: The front sight is an inverted “V” post set atop a small ramped base. There are a few other small marks on the rifle. The right side of the buttstock is marked with an “H” and with faded stampings.

The bolt assembly and other metal parts are marked with numbers that do not correlate to the serial number and/or “eagle” inspection stamps. The right side of the rear sight base is marked with 2 “eagle / WaA63” Waffenamts. The right side of the receiver is marked with an “eagle / WaA63” Waffenamt and 2 “eagle / swastika / 63” inspection stamps. The left side of the receiver is also marked “Mod. The left side of the receiver & barrel shank are each marked with a Nazi “eagle / swastika” and the serial number. The top of the receiver is marked “S/42” and “1938”.
